Project overview
Located in Richmond, VA, Sandy's Plants provides a diverse selection of container-grown plants to independent garden centers and landscapers.
Originally begun as a hobby in 1979, the nursery has since grown into a major supplier across four states, offering one of the most extensive selections of perennials on the East Coast.
The Challenge
Mitzi and J.R. were running the business on legacy software which was not giving them what they needed in terms of functionality, resulting in inefficient processes. From better inventory management to improved customer communication, the business needed a system that could make an impact across the board.
The Solution
After a comprehensive review of their processes and identifying key challenges, we implemented the ERP to tackle issues in inventory management, order processing, and picking. Next, we launched the Growflo-integrated web shop, enabling customers to place orders at their convenience, eliminating the need for internal order entry. Following this, we integrated the label and accounting software and deployed the inventory app, creating a fully streamlined system.
The Result
The ERP serves as the central hub for all business operations, bringing critical processes together in a single, user-friendly system. With most orders now placed through the mobile-friendly web shop, manual order entry by Sandy's staff has nearly been eliminated, saving significant time. Customers can also view and download invoices and credit notes directly from the web shop, reducing requests for document copies to almost zero. The app has revolutionized the management inventory and tasks around the nursery. Thanks to seamless integration with label printing and accounting software, the entire operation is now fully connected and cloud-based on Growflo.
